My Desire to Write
Since I was ten years old entering into the Young Writer's Conference contest, I knew I wanted to be a writer. I have always loved creating things that didn't exist before, although I do so with arts and crafts, such as drawing and gourd art, my favorite form of creation is through writing. Some day I hope to make a full time career out of being an author.
I have always loved creating things, going to places I've never been. Growing up in rural isolation, my main form of entertainment was television. I couldn't wait until the end of the week when Saturday morning cartoons would start. I would watch every show there was. I loved the ones that would explore the worlds I knew in existence and go beyond them, like the ones based on video games. I grew up on the Atari in the mid-80's and later went to Nintendo. Many of the cartoons I loved the most were based on those characters like Donkey Kong, Pitfall, The Legend of Zelda, Mario, and even Pac-Man. I also loved watching Doctor Who and the X-files that sparked my imagination. I love creating new worlds and hopefully one day someone will read my books and have the same inspiration.
The book I am pitching now is based on those above likes.
Aliens exist among us, hidden in disguise, ready for the right moment to attack.
Lucas was always the lone wolf type, never feeling like he belonged anywhere. His adopted parents were always moving, making it hard for him to make friends. He never understood why they did until that one summer before his junior year in high school. It started at the arcade, his favorite hangout, when a man gave him a magic box and told him to seek out a hermit by the name of Jonas. Long kept secrets are unraveled and Lucas must accept his destiny to rid the planet of the alien invaders.
His journey will involve: an ancestry of legendary figures, a legendary sword, time travel, the Lost City of Atlantis, and new friends on the same path of destiny.
